Participants in the Student and School Innovation Hub presented the progress of their projects at the International Youth Conference in Sozopol

The projects developed within the framework of the "Student and School Innovation Hub" initiative at the Research Sector of the Technical University – Sofia were demonstrated during the 7th International Youth Conference "Engineering Infrastructure and Competitive Business". Teams from 5 student and 2 school projects presented their bold ideas to a jury from the university's Research Sector.

Strong and diverse developments captured the audience's attention – a photovoltaic controller with backup power supply, IoT devices for analysis and control of energy efficiency of solar external blinds, onboard electronic system for verifying a dynamic model using a Kalman filter, DEXTERA – a robotic prosthesis replacing amputated upper limbs, an integrated system for precise monitoring and visualization of urban transport and autonomous onboard terminals, an intelligent system for recognition and spatial orientation of metal parts for robotic packaging, research and optimization of hybrid neural architectures for automated syntactic and morphological analysis of the Bulgarian language.

In addition to the 7 projects in the competition, there was another special demonstration – by the team of students from the Technical University – Sofia, which won the prestigious 3rd place at the international "Rapid Response Challenge" 2026 competition in Munich. The 7 team members shared their experiences from the competition in Germany and presented the drone made from accessible materials, such as 3D-printed elements, aluminum profiles, and G10 plastic, which performed excellently during tests with its stability and efficiency.

The enthusiasm and professionalism of the young engineers are supported by the Research Sector of TU-Sofia, which assists student developments and encourages the participation of young researchers in scientific and applied projects.
